The new building of Roopkala Kendro has come up on a 5-acre land at Sector-V, Block - GM, Salt Lake City, Kolkata - 700 091.
The building houses the academic infrastructure and Technical Areas for Development Communication, Direction, Motion Picture Photography, Editing, Sound Design and Animation Creation and Direction.

The building was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, Shri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on 9th September 2002.
